In this module we study the behaviour of contaminants in the environment. We study key aqueous pollutants (e.g. metals, radionuclides, nutrients, organic compounds), their behaviour in different waters (speciation, mobility, bioavailability and toxicity) and methods of remediation. The module includes a field trip to study groundwater chemistry and practical/tutorial sessions to develop the lecture concepts.

The module is coordinated by Nicky Allison (na9).

Assessment for this module take the form of 2 pieces of coursework (60% of the module total) and an exam (40% of module total).
