This module concerns the ways in which human beings think about their worlds,
and how anthropologists think about human worlds. Do we all think of the world
in the same way or do we think of the world in many different ways, or perhaps
think of different worlds? What are the consequences of even making such a
distinction?

This module demonstrates that an anthropological approach, sensitive to the
multiple ways people live in this world, can bring fruitful new perspectives to a
range of contemporary debates and issues. In this module we will explore how
anthropological thinking has changed across five key areas; Kinship, Politics,
Economics, Religion, and Environment. We will look at how approaches and
methods have transformed over the 150 or so years anthropology has been
practiced in the UK.
