Course information

This module combines political theology, political philosophy, and intellectual history. It explores 3 ideas, central to the history of Western political thought, as well as contemporary political and ethical debates: patriotism, republicanism, and cosmopolitanism. We shall see how these ideas were shaped by Christian theologians and philosophers and how these ideas, in turn, shaped both Christianity and Western society.
