The scientific diving module focus on the practical learning of key aspects of marine biology. Students will receive a hands-on-scientific learning approach during the field course. Further, the low ratio of students to lecturer, allows personalized help during the coursework. The module will teach current topics in marine biology, from coral bleaching to the effects of plastics in the marine realm, both from an ecological and behavioural point of view. Students will receive training in underwater marine identification and in data collection using a variety of underwater sampling techniques. Student will gain instrumental knowledge of how to design, record, analyse, and interpret marine biology data. At the end of the module students are expected to be able to lead their own marine research project, from the designing stage, to collecting and analysing robust data, to write the report and present the findings.
